Photos from Bramwell Junction to The Tip

From Bramwell Junction, we headed north along the Development Road until we found a piece of gaffa tape on a tree marking the turn-off to a lovely spot called Sam Creek.  We were lucky enough to find a camping area which was totally unoccupied, so we set up our camp ... but there was some discussion, over a beer or two, about where to put the campers:
When we'd set up, Ann and I went in search of the swimming hole we'd heard so much about - and weren't disappointed:
When we got back to camp, the boys set about chopping wood for the campfire - Ann had to put her first aid skills to the test when John chopped his leg instead of the wood!
Fortunately, this was the one and  only time Ann's first aid skills were needed.

Once his leg was bandaged, we all settled down for happy hour before starting to cook dinner:
After we packed up camp the next morning, we took the time to take another dip in the swimming hole.  It was a gorgeous spot:

From Sam Creek, we drove north to the Jardine River, where we had to wait for the office to open after lunch so we could buy our tickets to cross on the ferry.

Once we crossed the Jardine, it was another hour's drive to Loyalty beach, just south of The Tip, where we had wild Brumbys roaming the caravan park:
The next day, we set off for The Tip, but had to stop at The Croc Tent for a souvenir ... or two ... or three!:
It was a 2-300m walk from the carpark to The Tip, which we were able to do along the beach as it was low tide.  Ann became very emotional on the way, as it was something that's been on her bucket list for a long time, and was the culmination of many years' planning:

Naturally, we celebrated our achievement with a beer:
The drive to and from The Tip was on a narrow road/track through the most gorgeous rainforest:
After we'd had lunch we visited the sites of two WWII air wrecks:

At dusk that evening, the boys had a go at fishing, but, true to form, John didn't catch a thing!
